About the Program
The Guanajuato Summer Law Institute offers an introduction to Mexican Law and International Law subjects related to the USA and Latin America.
In addition to the four-week course component, the Summer Institute will also offer to its participants a two-week judicial or law office externship with a course component on Mexican Legal Systems & Social Development.
The Summer Institute normally enrolls between 60 and 70 students for the four-week summer course. Enrollment in each class is limited to 35 students. Enrollment in the externship component is limited to 20 students. In order to assure that a space has been reserved for you, tuition must be paid in full, within two weeks of acceptance into the program.
Students from the U.S., Mexico, Canada and Europe are recruited for the Summer Institute.
Students can travel to Guanajuato by car, bus, or plane. The first scheduled event of the program is a mandatory orientation meeting Sunday afternoon, June 1, at the Facultad de Derecho, Universidad de Guanajuato. If you do not attend the orientation, you will be disenrolled from the program. Field trips will be offered.
