Classes are held in the lovely city of Guanajuato. It has a pleasant climate and little air pollution. Situated in the silver-mining highlands of central Mexico, Guanajuato best exemplifies the cultural values of Mexico and the architectural splendor of the Spanish colonial period. You will discover the true values of Mexico as you stroll the narrow, cobbled, pedestrian-only streets that open onto charming, fountain-filled plazas where the friendly people congregate until late every night. With its numerous hilly, cobblestone streets walking is at times difficult. We recommend that everyone bring practical walking shoes. In addition to the charm and hospitality of its people, Guanajuato is known for its climate, scenery, mummies, subterranean roads, and Cervantes festival. A working knowledge of Spanish is helpful, but not necessary, in dealing with Guanajuato's friendly people.
In June and July, days are warm and comfortable and nights cool. Normally it rains each afternoon.
