ArchitectureThe Institute offers an introduction to Mexican Law and International Law subjects related to the USA and Latin America. It is offered to all law students, graduate students and professionals interested in learning the legal systems and culture of Mexico. Texas Tech law student Nate Christensen describes his experience as "the highlight of law school" (See Student Lawyer, ABA.)

The Institute is administered by the University of New Mexico in cooperation with the Universidad de Guanajuato. UNM has conducted law programs in Guanajuato since 1986 and the Institute since 1989; the current Consortium was formed in 1996.

Graduate students and others in related disciplines, such as international relations, business, anthropology, and Latin American studies have benefited from discussion of the economic, social, cultural, legal, and political questions considered.
